Couple thoughts on another rain out day.


-Albert Pujols is the best hitter in baseball. He's on his own level now that Bonds career is winding down. The guy refuses to swing at bad pitches and he crushes anything anywhere in the strike zone. Pujols has 19 long balls so far which means hes on pace for 38 HR... if the all star break was today, too bad there is 125 games left and he is on pace for 83 jacks. If Pujols makes a run at the single season record in the post roid era with no question marks, he would be worshipped and embraced by everyone. They are searching for someone with legitimacy to take the records back. Think about this, I looked up the average strikeouts for the 35 or more HR guys last year, it comes out to 130 exactly. Fat Albert K'd 65 times with 41 HR. He is the only guy in that group under 100 K's and with more walks (97) than strike outs. See the thing is that Albert is more of a contact hitter than a home run hitter. He takes what the pitcher gives him and hits line drives to all fields, it just happens that he gets such good contact that a lot of his hits leave the yard. Flat out impressive.

-Watch how many base hits Jeter gets to right field. Best inside out swing in baseball in my opinion.
