XxWoLFiExX: Sox Thoughts

Become who you were born to be.

Cpl quick Sox observations:
-Wow, I'm already consumed in baseball and the season is a mere five days old. We already saw JP closing on wednesday, 11 pitches, 8 strikes, 8 pitches 95mph or over. Foulkes cooked, I'd love nothing more then for him become the same pitcher he was in '04 but I cannot see it happening. Wednesday night the big dogs were Beckett and Paps, the future here in Boston.

-Get'em Coco, already lovin the crispy one. Opening day we saw him score from 1st base twice, and Wed. he was really movin on that triple. I couldnt say for sure, but to me he looks a good two steps faster than Johnny. Gettin on base, dancing on first, range in the field, he'll be a fan favorite in no time.

-Schill was impressive in game one, much better than I expected.

-Loretta looks awesome, really cerebral up there. Him and Coco play chess with the pitcher when Coco's on first and Lorettas taking pitches giving Coco a chance to run. Trot looks great but hes due for the DL anyday now, Wily Mo is a fine backup anyway.

-Manny looks lost up there, but that wont last.

I wanted to put together a dream team lineup that consists of the future of MLB. All young guys, some you should know, some you might not know, but you should keep an eye on all of them.

CF CLE Grady Sizemore 23, Gammons describes him as a Crawford/Damon Hybrid. His .289 last year was only the beginning and also the reason they could afford to trade Coco.

2B MIL Rickie Weeks 23, Been a big prospect for awhile. Unimpressive last year as a rookie but was playing injured, healthy now. Freak athlete, swings like Sheff, predict .280 with 20hr. Needs to cut down on errors. Also keep an eye on the other guy in the picture, weeks rookie teammate 1b Prince Fielder.

3B NYM David Wright 23, Already taking over the fan fav role in Queens. Stud that can do it all, power and average to all fields with a beautiful swing. Plays defense, including the over the head one handed catch of the year.

1B PHI Ryan Howard 26, Absolutely sweat this guy. Ortiz-like power, big uppercut swing that deposits opposite field HR at an alarming rate. Could be the next big power hitter of our era. Known as the kid who made Jim Thome expendable. 22HR last year playing half a season, straight beast.

RF TB Delmon Young 20, "Dmitri Young's younger brother and the No. 1 overall pick out of high school in the '03 draft, he batted .315 and hit 26 home runs in Triple A and Double A combined last season." Ready for the bigs right now.

LF FLA Jeremy Hermida 22, Favorite for rookie of the year in the NL. More talented than his HS rival ATL Braves OF Jeff Francouer.

SS CIN Felipe Lopez 25, Noone knows him, was a highly touted prospect for the Jays that broke out last year. Quiet .291 with 23HR.

C ANA Jeff Mathis 23, Catcher is a thin position but Mathis has been the catcher of the future for ANA for awhile now. I havent seen him much at all, heard hes solid with the bat and a wizard behind the plate.

P SEA Felix Hernandez 20, Just turned 20 on April 8th. He is the pitching Jesus. The next Santana, maybe even the next '99 Pedro. Hands down the best stuff I have literally ever seen in my life. In a few of his starts last year a ball would not reach the outfield. Throws a moving sinking fastball at around 98, Pedro-like hook, and a 90mph slider they dont even let him throw yet.
